Biography

Jeya is passionate about contributing towards the development of entrepreneurship ecosystems and also nurturing Social Businesses. He currently serves as a council member in the newly formed Malaysian Business Angel Network (MBAN), the official trade association representing angel investors in Malaysia. Jeya is leading the team in the Angel Academy initiatives which culminated in the new partnership with the London Business Angel and the Angels in the City programme and a couple more which are in the pipeline. All of this is with the end goal of enabling qualified and interested people to become good angel investor and to support the development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

He spent 5 years as a Vice President in an International Institute of Higher Learning where he architected and led a strategic transformation programme in partnership with key industry and employers in curriculum design and delivery of higher education. He strongly believes in the potential of young talent from Universities as being a powerful driving force towards a successful entrepreneurship ecosystem for a nation. He also firmly believes in the need for the development of Social Enterprises and the strategic value and benefit it brings to people and it’s importance for nation building.

Jeya has over 20 years experience in senior roles in Business Strategy, Sales and Business Development in Malaysia and the Asian region working for the likes of IBM, Ericsson Global Services, Getronics, Logica and INTI – Laureate International Universities. He has a good understanding of the Services Business space with in-depth experience and execution track record in IT services, Telecom services and Education services; plus numerous contribution in new start-ups and business model creation leading to successful commercialization.

He graduated with an Honours Degree in Law from the University of London and also has a graduate Diploma in Marketing from the CIM, UK. He is married and blessed with two wonderful boys. He loves reading and sports.
